Off Weebly, off old hosting
blaininc.com moved from Weebly and iconseries.com from its old shared hosting onto Vercel, with DNS edited record by record so email was never touched.

BlaininC · Blain Crellin · Melbourne
Blain Crellin spent thirty years photographing cities. Now he writes electronic soul. The site had to introduce both to a cold visitor in one continuous scroll, then carry his archive off two ageing hosting platforms without losing a post or a portrait. Live on www.blaininc.com since 4 September 2026.

The concept
Cold visitors do not know who Blain is, so the opening names the act, the man and the single, and gives them one thing to do: listen. From there the page is one photograph being listened to. The camera only ever moves closer. Brass notation lines are traced over the structures his eye found, from CityLink in 1999 to the Water Cube in Beijing to a held horizon in Thailand, and in the finale they converge into a single waveform that delivers the play moment for his new single, I'm Home.
Below the film the music comes first: the full Bandcamp catalogue with artwork, then the photography archive, then the story. Visitors who prefer reduced motion get the same content as a still page.
What was carried across
blaininc.com moved from Weebly and iconseries.com from its old shared hosting onto Vercel, with DNS edited record by record so email was never touched.
All posts ported with their old addresses preserved, then swept: dead image links removed, invisible share strips stripped, insecure video embeds fixed, dates and anchors made consistent.
Twenty-six portrait gallery pages from 2001 were only reachable through a script menu on the old site. They were recovered and republished so the series survives.
Fifty-eight photographs hotlinked from the old host stopped resolving the moment DNS moved. All were rehosted before the day was out.
All seventeen Bandcamp releases on the Music page with covers, the featured track set to the new single, and a radio mix embedded.
The architectural photography pages rewritten around commercial architectural photography in Melbourne, with commissions, clients and testimonials on one page.
Design notes
Near-black paper, a brass accent for the notation and a signal red taken from his own CityLink photographs. Marcellus for display, Archivo for body, a monospaced HUD for the chapter plates. The motion is built on GSAP and Lenis, vendored with the site rather than loaded from a CDN, and the film is pinned and scrubbed by the visitor's own scroll.
